Science with Mr. Z
Claire Zurbuch (Mr. Z) recently conducted a science experiment with first-graders at Jordak Elementary School. The students planted bean seeds in two different conditions. One group of seeds received the normal sunlight and water. The other group of seeds received water but were covered by a box and did not receive much light. The project took about a month. Students learned that sunlight allows plants to grow well, but the less sunlight group hardly grew as well.
State Qualifiers
Cardinal Middle School eighth-graders Josh Miller and Olivia Krebs qualified and competed in the state track meet where they went against athletes from all divisions across Ohio. Olivia placed sixth in the shot put and Josh placed 15th in the 200-meter hurdles.
