Pregame Football Dinner

The Cardinal High School varsity football team ate dinner with the youth flag, rookie tackle and Cardinal Middle School football teams on Sept. 14. The team then presented the youth players at the varsity football game against Brooklyn on Sept. 15.

Varsity head coach Chris Perrotti said, “We were able to share our pregame football team dinner with our middle school and youth programs. It was so much fun. Seeing all of the kids sitting together and enjoying each other’s company, that’s what it’s all about. We break huddles on the word “family,” and that’s what this is, our football family sharing a meal together.”

Skittles Science Lab

Mrs. Robinson’s sixth-grade science class participated in a Skittles science lab. Students used Skittles as rocks, water and a pipet as precipitation and a petri dish as Earth’s surface to simulate chemical and mechanical weathering and erosion. They discussed how sun and wind conditions would affect their “rocks,” concluding that deposition would take place when the water evaporated. Students were engaged and sharing their discoveries as they watched the candy coating on Skittles turn into “mineral, sediment and rock fragments” moving across “Earth’s surface.”
