Hall Of Fame Inductees Honored

The Class of 2017 Cardinal Athletic and Distinguished Alumni members have been officially inducted into their respective Halls of Fame. Inductees received their commemorative plaques at a special dinner held on Sept. 23. The group joins the three other classes already enshrined in Cardinal Hall of Fame history.

Prior to the induction dinner, inductees Kurtis Fisher, Christina Canfield and Darrell Nordeen spoke to students in grades seven through 12 during a special joint assembly Sept. 22 at Cardinal High School. The inductees spoke to the students about their accomplishments and how their time at Cardinal helped prepare them for the successes they’ve had. Students were also able to ask inductees questions, which ranged from what was their least favorite class to what’s their favorite flavor pop tart.

Following the assembly, inductees were treated to dinner in the CHS Distance Learning Lab and were then recognized on field prior to kick-off of the varsity football game. Congratulations to the newest members of the Halls of Fame.

Witch Trials

Students in Mr. Luke Kruse’s eighth-grade social studies class are currently studying Colonial America. Students recently participated in two historical simulations to help engage them with the material. The first simulation was the Salem Witch Trials, where students acted out the accusations. Students also acted out a New England town meeting to vote on how to spend the town tax funds.

Wellness Fair

The Cardinal Local School District will be hosting its annual Wellness Fair on Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. to noon at Cardinal Middle School. In celebration of the upcoming Halloween holiday and Friday the 13th, the theme for the event is “Don’t let your health get scary.”

Nearly two dozen health, wellness, beauty, financial and insurance vendors will be on site to help participants rejuvenate physically, socially, emotionally and financially while enhancing their career and community relations.

CVS will be providing flu shots for those ages 7 and older, so bring insurance cards.

There will be interactive displays, freebies, prize drawings and a special fun zone just for kids. This event is free and open to the public.
