History Lesson
Third-graders are studying the history of their communities: Middlefield, Parkman and Huntsburg. Students took pictures from various past events and hung them on a clothesline timeline. They then compared pictures from the past to pictures from the present. Students also watched video from Middlefield in the past and compared it to now. They’ve really enjoyed diving deeper into the community’s history this year – it is a fascinating place with so many stories to share.
STEM Coach Receives Grant
A representative from First Energy awarded STEM coach Shaun Spence with a $280 grant to enhance science and STEM activities for students in grades 3-5. The money will be used to purchase Generation Genius licenses for teachers in those grades.
Generation Genius is a set of online science curriculum aligned with Ohio and national Next Generation Science Standards. It features fun and informative science video lessons and engaging activities and lessons for teachers to use with and without technology.
Generation Genius is going to be a useful online tool that will engage, educate and inspire kids in science. Thanks, First Energy, for the continued support of Cardinal schools.
