Stop The Bleed Buckets

Thank you to Cardinal’s friends at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center for delivering 125 “Stop the Bleed” emergency response buckets to the district on Jan. 23. Buckets were delivered to each school building and will be given to every teacher to have in their rooms. Additional buckets will be kept in offices and other places throughout district buildings.

The buckets contain a tourniquet, gauze, dressing, bandages, tape, a door wedge, toilet paper and all come in a large bucket that can also be used in emergency situations. Staff members went through training earlier this school year to better understand how to utilize the buckets should a crisis occur. The training was just one of several completed at Cardinal in an effort to increase the district’s abilities to respond during an emergency and to enhance safety. While the district is again grateful to have these free resources at its fingertips, it hopes to never have to use them.

Paw Patrol Visits Jordak

Paw Patrol was on a roll at Jordak Elementary School on Jan. 10. Marshall from the Paw Patrol series was fired up to meet the Huskie Pups during breakfast. The pups lined up to give Marshall high fives and hugs and try some of the special “kibbles and bits” snack mix that was available. Several students won Paw Patrol-themed prizes after randomly selecting grab-n-go bags with a star on them. Prizes included books, coloring books, pens and paw patrol figures. The event is just a fun way to encourage students to try school breakfast.
