Kindergarten Orientation
Cardinal’s kindergarten pups got their first taste of school during orientation on Aug. 12. After a welcome from building Principal Kelly Bearer and teachers, Mrs. Lawrence, Mrs. Dyer, Mrs. Derecskey and Mrs. Skolnik, students and their parents were off on a scavenger hunt through the building to find all of the essential areas for the upcoming school year. As students found each of the designated areas, such as the restroom, cafeteria, gym, library, office and music room, they got a sticker to place on their scavenger hunt sheet.
Cardinal is so excited to have this new group of students in the Cardinal family. Welcome, Class of 2029.
Ice Cream Social Welcome
Nothing screams back to school like a big bowl of ice cream. On Aug. 16, Jordak Elementary School and Cardinal Intermediate School hosted an open house and ice cream social to welcome students and their families back to the new school year. It was an opportunity for students to bring their school supplies, find their lockers, meet their teachers and see their classrooms for the upcoming year. The Cardinal PTA provided ice cream and sundae toppings for everyone to enjoy in the Jordak cafeteria.
Cardinal Middle School also hosted an open house on Aug. 16 from 5-6 p.m.
The school district is looking forward to a great year filled with Huskie pride.
Kindergarten First Day Reminder
A reminder for parents that the first full day of school for kindergarten students is Aug. 26. Cardinal Schools cannot wait for the class of 2029 to join all day, every day.
Freshman Orientation
The freshman class also had its orientation on Aug. 12. Students were able to come to school and get their iPads and schedules.
After some encouragement and motivation from a guest speaker, students were able to walk their schedules, find their classroom and get familiar with the layout of the high school. High school teachers and staff are excited for the new year – they’re looking forward to having the class of 2020 with them.
