Winter Break

As a reminder, the Cardinal Local School District will be on winter break from Dec. 22 through Jan. 3. The first day back for students will be Jan. 4.

We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a very safe, happy and healthy new year.

Winter Concert

First- and second-grade students put on an outstanding winter concert on Dec. 5. They have been working hard learning their songs and all of their efforts paid off – they were quite the entertainers. Congratulations, students and Mr. Kithcart on fantastic performances.

Third-Grade Science Lab

Third-graders were in the science lab in Mrs. Tropf’s classes and were trying to determine which materials allow the least and most amounts of water through them. District consultant Claire Zurbuch led the lab giving students six materials to choose from, including topsoil, sand, clay, small and large gravel and leaves. Students layered three of those items in a container and then poured water on top. They let the water drain for one minute and then measured the amount of water that came out. Students recorded their results on the board to determine how each group’s selections compared to others. Great work everyone.
