If one’s student qualified for free and reduced breakfast or lunch last year, the carryover from last year will end on Sept. 28 unless an updated application is approved.

Free & Reduced Lunch Fees

If one’s student qualified for free and reduced breakfast or lunch last year, the carryover from last year will end on Sept. 28 unless an updated application is approved.

As per USDA regulations, if a child qualifies for lesser level meal benefits (from free status to reduced-price status to reduced-price/free status to paid status), these changes will take effect 10 days from the date of application approval. If a child qualifies for higher level meal benefits (from paid/reduced-price status to free status or paid status to reduced-price status), these changes will take effect immediately upon application approval.

The new form can be found on the district website For questions, contact josephine.culliton@chardonschools.org.

Morning Drop-Off at CMS

The district has noticed people using the Chardon Board of Education parking lot for morning drop-off, and asks that parents please not do this.

All car traffic should be using the high school driveway. Buses use this parking lot as a staging area for their next runs and those buses that are leaving CMS after their drop-offs are not expecting cars to be using the north driveway and often cannot see around the corner as they make that tight turn.

If one needs to enter the building, please enter the parking lot from the middle driveway off of North Street, park the car in a visitor’s parking spot and walk one’s child across the bus traffic in the parking lot.

CMS Robotics Club

The Chardon Robotics Club is now accepting applications from fifth-, sixth- and seventh-grade students. If students would like to learn more about the club or would like to apply, application and club information packets will be located in the cafeteria on the table in front of the Student Council bulletin board. Details about the club can be found in the application.

The club is open to CMS students in grades 5-7. Applications must be filled out completely and turned in to Mr. Hilston in room 222 by Sept. 28 to be considered. Email brent.hilston@chardonschools.org or see him in room 222 with any questions.
