District to Host Art Show

The first annual Chardon Local Schools Juried Art Exhibit is April 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Chardon High School cafeteria and gym. All are welcome to attend.

Every student from kindergarten to 12th-grade who participates in art will have a piece displayed. Free hands-on activities will be available during the open house, including 3-D pens, caricature artists, pottery wheel demonstrations and more.

Refreshments will also be available. Every student who attends will get a raffle ticket to enter for amazing prizes. Bring the kids for the free, family-friendly event.

Kindergarten Registration

Just a reminder to access the Chardon Schools website and complete the online registration if one has a child entering kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year. The district is happy to include new families as part of the school community and hopes to make the transition for parents and children as easy as possible.

Also, if anyone knows someone who has a child entering kindergarten next year, please relay this important information.

Easter Break

Chardon Schools will be closed for the long Easter weekend, April 19-22.

Scooby-Doo! DOO GOOD

The students of the Chardon Academy at Chardon High School are sponsoring a pet food and supply drive during the month of April. The event is called Scooby-Doo! DOO GOOD to help promote the celebration of National Kids & Pets Day (April 26) and National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day (April 30).

Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. Gang need help lending a hand and paw. Help Scooby’s friends by donating any of the following items: Purina Dog Chow and Purina Cat Chow, dog and puppy / cat and kitten canned food, soft dog treats, dog toys and cat (safe) toys, small fleece blankets, cat beds and dog beds, paper towels, sponges, garbage bags, Dawn dish soap, liquid laundry detergent and Pet Supplies Plus gift certificates.

Designated drop-off areas are all of school building main offices.

All proceeds will benefit Rescue Village. Contact daniel.dinko@chardonschools.org for more information.
