CMS Students of the Month

Congratulations to the following Chardon Middle School students who were chosen by their team of teachers as students-of-the-month for November.

They are sixth-graders: Lexie Corrigan, Nick Fay, Maja Lampic, Athan Marshall; seventh-graders: Marcus Chauby, Annabelle Liebhardt, Lucy Muhic, Jude Taddie; and eighth-graders: Natalie Breznai, Domenic Mularo, Ethan Mack and Alyssa Gotliebowski.

Hour of Code

During Computer Science Education Week, Dec. 8-14, many Chardon students will be participating in “The Hour of Code,” a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in more than 180 countries. A one-hour activity, students of all ages can choose from a variety of self-guided tutorials, from kindergarten up.

Every 21st-century student should have the opportunity to learn computer science. The basics help nurture creativity and problem-solving skills and prepare students for any future career.

The code.org tutorials work on any modern browser, tablet, smartphone, or even with no computer at all, and feature Angry Birds, Plants versus Zombies and video lectures from Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates. Once students see what they create right before their eyes, they’re empowered to keep learning.
