Kindergarten Parent Meeting
Information night for incoming kindergarten parents will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 31 for children entering kindergarten in August. Children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 30, 2022.
Information about kindergarten and the registration process will be shared virtually. Visit kenstonlocal.org on Jan. 31 to access the presentation.

Thank you to Kenston Board members for the countless hours and immeasurable energy that they spend to assure that Kenston schools are providing the best education possible for the children of the community. We appreciate and applaud them for their vision, voice and advocacy for our students.
At the organizational meeting of the Board of Education, Neysa Gaskins was elected president and Jennifer Troutman was elected vice president for 2022. Board members are Dennis Bergansky, Dr. Beth Krause and Tom Manning.
Board of education regular meetings are generally held the third Monday of the month in the Kenston High School, Auburn-Bainbridge room. The meetings begin at 7 p.m. The board also added work sessions to their calendar on the first Monday of most months

KMS Presents High School Musical, Jr.
Kenston Middle School will be presenting Disney’s “High School Musical, Jr.” on Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. and Jan. 29 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Kenston High School, Robert A. Lee Auditorium.
The play centers around the blossoming relationship between Troy, a high school jock, and Gabriella, the new smart girl at school. They meet on a family vacation and become attracted to each other while singing in a karaoke competition. Rediscovering each other at school, their relationship and their surprise decision to audition together for the school show are thwarted by the school’s current leading lady, Sharpay, and Troy and Gabriella’s well-meaning friends. Finally, Gabriella and Troy find a way to be themselves and are rewarded with the lead roles in the school show. Full of catchy songs and exciting dance routines, the musical explores issues of friendship, first love and acceptance.

Timmons Zoo Crew
Timmons Elementary School third-graders who work hard and show great effort were named to the Zoo Crew. Members of the Zoo Crew are rewarded with goofy and crazy games and activities before school each week for eight weeks.

KHS Afterprom Sneaker Drive
Help raise funds for the Kenston High School After Prom by donating old sneakers to be repurposed and recycled into playground mulch. The KHS PTO will be collecting the worn out shoes at Kenston Schools and around the community through Jan. 28. Help support the environment by keeping the shoes out of the landfills all while helping the KHS Afternoon Prom. Sneakers only, please.
Distinguished Hall of Fame
The Kenston Alumni Association is seeking outstanding individuals for induction into the 2022 Distinguished Hall of Fame. These people will be graduates or staff members of Auburn, Bainbridge or Kenston schools who have achieved success in their careers and have made significant contributions in their fields as well as to society.
To be eligible, nominees must have graduated in the class of 2012 or before or retired/resigned from the district by June 1, 2012, or before, and not currently be employed by the Kenston Schools. Visit www.kenstonlocal.org for more information.
