Kindergarten registration is underway for children entering kindergarten in August. Children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 30. Complete the online registration by visiting Kindergarten Registration at kenstonlocal.org and then schedule an in-person appointment to complete the paperwork and turn in supporting documentation.
Literary Magazine Named “Superior”
The Kenston High School literary magazine “Janus” was honored with a rank of “Superior” in the 2021 National College of Teachers of English Program – Recognize Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) Award.
Over 200 schools entered the 2021 program. Kenston and only one other school in Ohio received the highest honor. Student editors of the 2021 edition were Maximus Yost (lead editor), Michael Yost (lead editor), Dante Anderson, Noelle Badalotti, Natalia Barone, Grace Geisler, Kathryn Haynes, Anna Marthe, Skylar Pagon, Halle Preneta, Hayley Sharp, Jenna Stretch and Lily Tatara. Mr. Tony Marchesi was the faculty advisor.
100 Days of School
Celebrating the 100th day of school has become a rite of passage for Timmons Elementary School kindergartners. Not only do they celebrate the milestone, but they explore the number 100. From creating T-shirts with 100 items, deciding how to spend $100 and talking about what it was like 100 years ago, it is not something students will soon forget. Treasurer Paul Pestello stopped by to check out the counting skills of the kindergartners.
