Kenston Intermediate School students have conducted elections for their 2017-18 Student Council officers. They are: Emily Morgan, president; Jack Purcell, vice president; Florah Greenburg, treasurer; and Brooke Race, secretary.
KMS STAND Committee
Kenston Middle School selected members of the 2017-18 S.T.A.N.D. (Students Taking A New Direction.) The program evolved from students looking to make a difference in their school and community by “taking a stand, lending a hand” against bullying by creating a positive and healthy environment. The students selected exemplified leadership qualities among their peers treating others kindly.

Candidates Night
Political Action Committee of Kenston (PACK) and the Geauga County League of Women Voters will host a Candidates Night Forum on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Kenston High School, Robert A. Lee Auditorium, 9500 Bainbridge Road. Candidates and issue representatives will present, followed by a question and answer session from the audience. Campaign materials will also be available.
KCS to Perform Leading Ladies
Kenston Center Stage has announced the cast for the fall drama production of “Leading Ladies.” The Kenston production will feature Aron Butler, Julia Fugedy, Keenan Garceau, Megan Herbruck, Alex Hubert, Jack McDonough, Colin Montville, Anna Snyder, Nate Wasinski and Phillip Witmer-Rich.
Ken Ludwig’s “Leading Ladies” is a comedy about two English Shakespearean actors who find themselves so down on their luck that they are performing “Scenes from Shakespeare” on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. When they hear that an old lady in York, Pa., is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews, they resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. The trouble is, when they get to York, they find out that the relatives aren’t nephews, but nieces. Romantic entanglements abound.
Performance dates are Nov. 9-11 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. at the Kenston High School, Robert A. Lee Auditorium.
Child Find
As required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA 2004), the Kenston Local Schools is conducting the Child Find campaign to identify, locate and evaluate all children with disabilities from age 3 through 21, residing within the school district. This includes Bainbridge and Auburn children with disabilities who are homeless, wards of the state or attending nonpublic schools, regardless of the severity of the disability.
