National Merit Recognition

The National Merit Scholarship Corp. has announced Kenston seniors Jacqueline Jeromin, William Parsons and Abigail Vossler as semifinalists in the National Merit Achievement and National Merit Scholarship academic competitions.  Approximately 16,000 semifinalists were named in the 63rd annual National Merit Program.

Commended Scholars are Alyssa Kassouf, Morgan Spehar and Madison Spicuzza.

 Candidates Night Forum

The Political Action Committee of Kenston (PACK) and the Geauga County League of Women Voters will host a Candidates Night Forum on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Kenston High School, Robert A. Lee Auditorium, 9500 Bainbridge Road. Candidates and issue representatives will present, followed by a question and answer session from the audience.

Free Skate with Hockey Team

The Kenston Hockey Team invites the public to try hockey for free on Oct. 21 at 3:10 p.m. at the Pond Ice Rink, 9999 East Washington St. Skate with the hockey players for an hour, enjoy free popcorn and pop and chances to play games and win prizes. Receive a $10 Snack Cash card for signing up for a Pond program registration. Equipment will be provided.

Kenston Middle School

The Kenston School District would like to sincerely thank the entire Kenston family for coming together to assist the middle school students and staff as they transitioned to their new locations throughout the district. After extensive meetings with the roofing contractor and quality assurance specialists, Kenston anticipates that the middle school roofing project will be completed by late November. In the meantime, sixth-grade students and faculty have been welcomed with open arms at Kenston Intermediate School, the seventh-grade students and faculty to Gardiner Center, and eighth-grade students and faculty to the high school.
