100 Club Recognition

The National Speech and Debate Association National Forensic League honored the Kenston High School Speech and Debate Club as a 100 Club. The recognition is given to programs that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to teaching students essential life skills, including communication, research, listening, writing and organization. Students earned Honor Society points and degrees based on competition, leadership and service activities to achieve the award.

Freshman Class Officers

Freshman class officers were elected by their peers. Representing the class of 2026 are Cullen Fehring, president; Dylan Ringness, vice president; Cal Buchanan, secretary; and Brendan Scheurer, treasurer.

Homecoming 2022

Kenston’s annual homecoming parade will take place Sept. 29. The parade begins at 6 p.m. and will feature the Kenston band and Bomberettes, building floats and individual participants.

The parade will start in the high school staff parking lot. Please park between the middle school and intermediate school or in the high school student lot and view from the lawn of the middle school or the high school driveway.

The high school is also looking for individuals with a convertible willing to be part of the parade transporting the homecoming court. If a business or organization would like to participate in the parade, contact KHS Assistant Principal Matt Watts at 440-543-9821.

School Bus Safety

As students return to school, Kenston needs the community’s help keeping students safe as they get on the bus. Believe it or not, children are safer traveling in school buses than in any other motor vehicle. Unfortunately, school bus accidents happen because many drivers forget about some school bus safety basics.

Ohio has laws that require all vehicles to come to a halt when a school bus has its stop sign out and its red lights flashing. The signals indicate that children are getting on or off the bus.

When sharing the road with school buses, remember these rules: do not pass a school bus until the red lights and signals are turned off; always stop when traveling in the same direction as the bus; and never pass on the right side of the bus. Besides being illegal, this is where children enter and exit.
