Timmons Lunch Bunch

Timmons Elementary School students selected for Lunch Bunch honors in September were recognized for their responsibility. Kindergartners honored were Leo Garrett, Vera Korzhiletskiy, Gigi Manis, Rylee Papay, Mikyah Simmons, Julia Speece, Andrew Timmons and Maggie Vander Wyst. First-graders were Avri Bassett, Abigail Garber, Margaret George, Livia Greaves, Lilliana Herbert, Pablo Roblesgil-Ambrosi, August Seidenwand, Benjamin Wright and Edward Zaranec.

Second-graders were Hannah Boehnlein, Bennett Bush, Leah Draves, Peyton Emerick, Vaughn Gill, Alexis Grant and Lia Smargiasso. Third-graders were Trey Cono, Maya Gertsburg, Bella Liotta, Aiden McCausland, Angelina Miller, Emilee Samuels, Giordanna Somich and Martin Steimle.

KIS Students of the Month

Kenston Intermediate School announces its Students of the Month for September. Students selected for “responsibility” honors were fourth-graders Jackson Currutt-Weisend, Amelia Eliazo, Catherine Gregan, Blake Grubich, Evelyn Laupan, Dylan McCoy, Wyatt Sargent and Cecelia Traylor; and fifth-graders Kimber Burns, Tori Closs, Landyn Crowley, Owen Danzi, Joshua Garisek, Ayla Lewandowski, Violet Myers, Patricio Roblesgil-Ambrosi, Andrew Rosneck, Joseph Schenkelberg, Andrew Seifried and Asher Weaver.

KMS Students of the Month

Kenston Middle School is pleased to announce their Students of the Month for September. Students selected for Student of the Month honors were sixth-graders Maci Amstutz, Ian McCallin, Cole McDonald and Tea Ness; seventh-graders Grace Klar, Zach Radefeld, Vienne Rechtiene and Nathaniel Sheneman; and eighth-graders Sydney Corcoran, Alex Hauptman, Greylan Lewis and Alex Morin.

National Merit Scholars

Each year the National Merit Scholarship Corporation conducts a scholarship program to encourage and recognize academic excellence. Students enter the program by taking the PSAT in their junior year in October. Over 22,000 high schools nationwide administer the test annually, with over 1.6 million juniors taking the test.

Kenston High School has five students who were named as commended scholars. These students are typically in the top 95 percent of all students who take the test. They are Neil Wachter, Sam Koltas, Victor Como, Frederick Zoes and Mary Cowan.

Safe School Hotline

The Ohio Department of Education has partnered up with Ohio Homeland Security to offer all Ohio school districts a safe and secure tip line. The tip line can be anonymous, or callers have the option to leave contact information. Any threatening information or suspicious activity will be assessed by the Homeland Security team to determine the level of the threat. If it’s determined to be a high-level threat, they will communicate directly with local law enforcement and the school district.
