Honoring Veterans Day
Veterans were celebrated across the district and by third-graders at -Timmons Elementary School. Annually, students invite parents, grandparents or a special friend who has served in the military to share stories about military life and their branch of the service. Guest speakers often bring military mementos to share.
Timmons Elementary School is also a Purple Ribbon School supporting military families. Students honored the veterans by performing military and patriotic songs.

Preschool Role Model Enrollment
The Kenston preschool at Timmons Elementary School is designed so preschool children with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) receive educational services in an environment with typically developing peers. The program focuses on providing educational opportunities for all preschool children, enabling them to grow, develop and learn from one another.
For families interested in sending their child to Timmons as a typically developing peer role model must complete a screening packet found on the website at kenstonlocal.org, and return it to Mrs. Katie Seifried by Nov. 28.
The screening will take place on Dec. 2, from 9-10 a.m. at the Timmons building.
Either scan/email the packet to katie.seifried@kenstonapps.org or drop it off at the Timmons Elementary School office attention Mrs. Katie Seifried.
Children placed as typically developing peer models need to be potty trained, parents must provide their own transportation, and families must reside in the Kenston Local School District.
For families of students who are already on an IEP or have recently moved to the district, please contact the special education office at 440-543-3013 for assistance.
Kenston Conversations
Kenston community members are invited to join the second Kenston Conversation of the year on Nov. 29 from 1-2 p.m. at South Franklin Circle, 16600 Warren Ct., Chagrin Falls in the Chautauqua Room. Kenston Conversations is designed to be a time when the community can have open dialogue with Interim Superintendent Steve Sayers.
The district feels it is an important and outstanding opportunity to engage with in-person get-togethers in various settings, seeing community members and sharing what wonderful accomplishments the faculty, staff and students have achieved. There will be a short presentation at the session followed by a question and answer time. It will be an opportunity to gain feedback on things Kenston is doing well and areas for improvement.
