Incoming Kindergarten Orientation
Information night for incoming kindergarten parents will be held on Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. for children entering kindergarten in August. Children must be five (5) years old on or before Sept. 30, 2024.
Information about kindergarten and the registration process will be shared in person at Timmons Elementary School, 9595 East Washington St.
Kenston Conversations
Residents of the Auburn and Bainbridge communities are welcome to join Superintendent Steve Sayers for a cup of coffee and conversation about the Kenston schools. Upcoming gatherings are Jan. 25 from 1-2 p.m. at South Franklin Circle and March 19 from 5-6 p.m. at Sirna’s Farm Fresh Kitchen.
WRC Scholar Athletes
Congratulations to the students who earned Western Reserve Conference Scholar Athlete honors for 2023 fall sports. To be recognized for the award, athletes must have earned a varsity letter and maintained a 3.25 grade point average during the most recent grading period.
Cheerleaders Gianna Agresta, Julia Arnaut, Victoriana Grunwald, Alexa Hebert, Chloe Hebert, Avery Jakacki, Maddy Jaroch, Rory Kaltenbach, Keeley Mesec, Ryleigh Offutt, Madison Pastor, Ever Phillips, Sofia Salvini and Olivia Suskowicz were recognized for their scholarship.
Cross country student athletes were Addison Altmann, Maddison Bushnell, Bruno Cassina, Matthew Collins, Colin Drotleff, Ronan Feldman, Dominic Fontana, Emerson Greene, Jacob Kovalski, Mitchell Lai, Christian Lioudis, Lisa Markoff, Brianna McIvor, Kyle McMahan, Jack Miller, Samuel Myles, Charles O’Brien, Hadleigh Schmittel, Ashley Slates, Sean Tobin, Mackenzie Villers, Martin Weber, Olivia White, Charlotte Witmer-Rich and Aurora Young.
Receiving honors in football were Ethan Ballantyne, Cohen Clark, Rocco DeLuca, William Dottore, Sean Doyle, Andrew Fender, Evan Glontz, Joshua Hallen, Lucas Kaltenbach, Dylan Krupp, Graden Kucharson, Samuel Meeks, Maxwell Robarge, Toran Savransky, Brody Sell, Justin Spehar, Charlie Thompson, Tristan Tubbs and Colin Weiland.
Boys golfers, Brady Baran, Graysen Bischof, Hunter Brownfield, Nolan Gelin, Owen Ryan, Avery Siperke and Austin Stephens received Scholar Athlete honors from the Western Reserve Conference.
Girls golfers Sophia Anderson, Ella Butler, Abbigail Davis, Olivia Dicker, Lauren Loveman, Megan Master, Stefania Mighton, Ava Solak, Victoria Takacs, Annika Tutzer and Emma Vanderbilt earned a Scholar Athlete award.
Boys soccer players Evan Branthoover, Aiden Caspell, Andrew DiBernardo, Rex Eberhart, Benjamin Fink, Gradyn Flynn, Ryan Flynn, Ethan Gaskin, Jacob Gertsburg, Cooper Hicks, JP Klosky, Joshua Koltas, Jared Lechak, Tyshon McKinney, Ewan Paterson, Jack Purcell, Joshua Rice and Owen Snider were recognized with Scholar Athlete awards.
Girls soccer players Natalie Brown, Reese Cochran, Bria Devlin, Eleana DeWitt, Grace Gettig, Ashlyn Hunter, Calli Jakacki, Mia Lioudis, Mariela Macias, Sofia Macias, Olivia Muzzio, Emily Phillips, Jillian Ragsdale, Annabelle Soltis, Gabby Soltis and Marin Walz received All Academic honors.
Tennis players Giulia Badalotti, Sabrina Billock, Brooke Davidson, Madison Davila, Brooke McNeal, Alayna Stachiw and Alexandria Ungaro earned Scholar Athlete honors.
Volleyball players Avari Amstutz, Emma Brownfield, Emily Grubich, Emma Hart, Kate Hershberger, Janie Kerchenski, Lindy Kerchenski, Anna McCabe, Ashlyn Myers, Sadie Poudevigne and Raegan Timmons were recognized with a Scholar Athlete award.
Western Reserve Players of the Year
Congratulations to the students who earned Western Reserve Player of the Year honors for 2023 fall sports. Receiving the honor were Riley Rosneck in volleyball, Emerson Greene in girls cross country and Brooke McNeal in girls tennis.
Postseason Football Honors
Congratulations to the following Kenston football players who received postseason honors: Sean Patrick – Division III co-offensive player of the year; Division III First Team All-State; Sean Doyle – Division III First Team All-State; Max Robarge – Division III Second Team All-State; Tymir Cardona – Division III Third Team All-State; Ashton Kolenic – Division III Third Team All-State; and Grady Kucharson – Division III Honorable Mention All-State.

KIS Students of the Month
Kenston Intermediate School’s Students of the Month for November were selected for “respect” honors. They are fourth-graders Harlan Carroll, Trey Cono, Winter Doersen, Lincoln McGlone, Gordon Miller, Piper Myers, Myles Roberts, Corinne Saccardi, Oliver Thorne, Savannah Vasch and Connor Wolfe; and fifth-graders Blake Christopher, Ari DeVogel, Emma Kaldon, Lilian Taber, Trent Torrelli, Lincoln VanFossen, Annie Vander Wyst and Layna Wennerstrom.
KMS Student of the Month
Kenston Middle School recognized its Students of the Month for November. They were sixth-graders Lily Baugher, Owen Danzi, Harper Milroy and Asher Weaver; seventh-graders Josie Ashby, Emerson Bargiel, Graham Crawford and Hudson Hufty; and eighth-graders Luke Fender, Jax Kantura, Grace Klar and Sofiya Pavlova.
KHS Students of the Month
Kenston High School announces its Students of the Month for December. They are ninth-graders Jane Eibler and Kohana Mori; 10th-graders Grace Gettig and William Radefeld; 11th-graders Mackenzie Irvine and Michael Thompson; and 12th-graders Brandon Bell and Emily Phillips.
Rotary Senior
Jack Beclay is the December Rotary Student of the Month. He maintains a 4.560 grade point average and excels academically and musically. He also has multiple volunteer opportunities in the community. He has earned an academic plaque for achieving nine departmental awards in world languages, computer science, social studies, mathematics and the sciences. Jack was named an AP Scholar with Distinction and will receive the AP Capstone Diploma. This fall, Jack was named a National Merit semifinalist. Jack has also been a member of the symphonic band for the past four years, has played in the KHS Jazz Band and is a member of the pit orchestra for Kenston Center Stage.
Jack is active in a variety of extracurricular activities. During his high school career, he has held numerous leadership positions such as the class of 2024 vice president, vice president of the National Honor Society, president of the Russian Club, president of the Trivia Club and is a member of the Math Club. He is also a member of Kenston’s Sciece Olympiad and has earned over 40 invitational and regional placements (Top 8), over 20 invitational and regional medals and four state level awards. Additionally, he has helped with the Bomber Bash Lead Crew and fundraised for Kenston’s Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Student Visionaires of the Year program.
Outside of school, Jack has worked at Lowe’s Greenhouse. He has spent many hours volunteering, has taught English to Ukrainian learner, and has fostered many puppies through Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups.
Jack plans to attend a four-year college and aspires to study chemical engineering.
