Kenston Intermediate School is pleased to announce their Students of the Month for September. Students selected for “hard work and responsibility” honors were fourth-graders Anna Cieslak, Londyn Clark, Andi Dodd, Stefon Huckabee, Isabella Klak, Charlie McMicken, Annaliese Pyle, Bryce Stotter and Corinne Wilson; and fifth-graders, Roma Alvarez, Graysen Bischof, Jack Bryner, Ronald Fratoe, Max George, Luke Lombardo, Ellie Scaccia, Lily Shwonek, Marin Walz, Cade White and Daniel Wilson.
Homecoming Parade
The Kenston homecoming parade is Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m. The parade will feature the Kenston band and drill team, building floats and individual participants. The theme is “Emerald City.” The parade will begin in the high school staff parking lot. Please park between the middle school and intermediate school and view from the lawn of the middle school.
Community Tailgate
Join us for the homecoming tailgate Sept. 28 from 5-7 p.m. at Kenston Stadium. Before the 7 p.m. kick-off versus Mayfield, mingle with the community and enjoySmooth Rider, Scott’s Fire and Ice, the Funky Truckeria and more local food truck cuisine.
The Kenston Alumni Distinguished Hall of Fame inaugural class of 2018 will be recognized pregame.
The homecoming court will be announced and the king and queen crowned during halftime.
The next tailgate will take place on Oct. 5 from 5-7 p.m. prior to the Kenston versus Riverside varsity football game. It’s senior night for all non-stadium fall sports. Enjoy the MAAK cookout with a $5 hot dog pack: Nathan’s hot dog, popcorn and drink special.
Safe School Hotline
The Ohio Department of Education has partnered up with Ohio Homeland Security to offer all Ohio school districts a safe and secure tip line. The tip line can be anonymous, or callers have the option to leave contact information. Any threatening information or suspicious activity will be assessed by the Homeland Security team to determine the level of the threat. If it’s determined to be a high-level threat, they will communicate directly with local law enforcement and the school district.
Information that is only school related such as bullying, social media issues or other school related information will be routed directly to the school administrators to address.
