Congratulations to Timmons Elementary School students selected for Lunch Bunch honors in February.
The following kindergartners honored with “Compassion” awards were Gabriella Albino, Brady Garber, Jaylah John, Milo Sedmak, Beatrice Seidenwand, Calista Tatman and Chloe Wyszynski. First-graders honored were Anna Rosie Asher, Joshua Flinders, Ashley Klak, Evelyn Kraemer, Frank Kuczma, Tess Lewis, Jocelyn Matsko and Isabella Walters.
Second-graders were Rebecca Chelbezan, William Freshwater, Sarah Kramer, Aria Lemons, Grayson Smith, Gianna Sowards, Brian Swanson and Maddox Wines. Third-graders were Noah Butler, Lillian Hajde, John (JT) Hummer, BellaRayne Leanza, Alayna Taylor, Sophia Villanueva, Vivian Walters and John Zaranec IV.

Kenston High School is pleased to announce its Students of the Month for March.
Students selected for Student of the Month honors were ninth-graders Nicole Nelson and Nathan Snyder; tenth-graders Gillian Oakes and Colin Varga; eleventh-graders Carleigh Dunnam and Alan Wood; and twelfth-graders Christa Neimann and Seth Samidan.
Say Something Week
Students at Kenston high and middle schools joined schools across the country to recognize the Sandy Hook Promise Say Something Week. Say Something Week reinforces the power young people have to prevent tragedies and save lives when they Say Something to a trusted adult.
Speece to Compete in Debate Championship
By qualifying for nationals in Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Kenston senior Tia Speece will be competing at The City Club of Cleveland in the Cleveland High School Debate Championship on March 8. The event is also broadcast on the radio and TV. The community can also listen to a live broadcast on 90.3 WCPN starting at 12:32 p.m. It will be rebroadcast on March 10 at 10 a.m. on WVIZ/PBS and at 10 p.m. on 104.9 WCLV and on March 14 at 8 p.m. on 90.3 WCPN.
Mock Trial Qualifies for States
The Kenston High School Mock Trial team is one of only 29 out of 320 teams, and more than 3,000 students, that will compete in the state tournament held in Columbus on March 7 and 8. The team comprised of Dominic Alandt, Frank Hegedus, Laura Parsons, Chloe Peiffer, Sam Selent, Tia Speece and Madeline Worsdall defeated Mentor and Orange at regionals and Andrews Osborne Academy and Lake at district to secure their state berth.
This is Kenston’s second year of having a Mock Trial team. The team is coached by lawyers Jennifer Troutman, Jonathan Witmer-Rich and Stephan Voudris.
Congratulations to senior Tia Speece and sophomore Marcus Novak who were selected to go to nationals as part of the Cleveland North Coast District World Schools Debate Team, which will compete at the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Dallas, Texas in June. Tia also qualified for nationals in Lincoln-Douglas Debate, the first time Kenston ever qualified anyone for that event to nationals. Congratulations also to Okan Kardzala and Marcus Novak, the first Kenston Public Forum Debate team ever to make it to the single elimination rounds at the NSDA national qualifying tournament, after having four wins and two losses in the preliminary rounds.
