Kenston School News
Ryan Tien has been selected Kenston’s Chagrin Valley Rotary Club Student of the Month in March.
March Rotary Senior
Ryan Tien has been selected Kenston’s Chagrin Valley Rotary Club Student of the Month in March. He carries a 4.315, earning the Rensselaer medal for excellence in science and mathematics. He will graduate in the Top 15 of his class, with an honors diploma, magna cum laude honors and having earned the Scholar Athlete Award for varsity soccer and varsity track.
Ryan has worked hard both academically and athletically striving to become the best student athlete possible. Much of his time is committed to either soccer or track. He played soccer all four years, earning two varsity letters and being selected senior captain. He began running track as a sophomore and looks forward to earning his third letter this spring.
Ryan believes that giving back to the community and helping others is important and rewarding. As a member of National Honor Society, he represents Kenston and volunteers at a variety of events. He also served on the Lead Crew for Bomber Bash, the 12-hour dance marathon fundraiser benefiting PTO and A Kid Again Foundation. He has also served as a peer mentor for incoming freshman.
Ryan has participated in two internships through the Geauga Growth Partnership Program, one with Mercury Plastics and currently with the American Society of Metallurgy (ASM International). He also acts as part-time webmaster for the non-profit organization Workplace Health without Borders.
Ryan is currently undecided as to the college he will attend, but plans on studying biomedical engineering with a possible double major or minor in business.
