Kenston’s elementary school students participated in the finals of the Kenston Cooks competition. The idea behind the event is to help educate students in healthy eating habits. Children submitted recipes for their favorite healthy breakfast and the selected finalist prepared the winning dish in a cook-off. Third-grader JD Crowley and kindergartner Anya Baum were declared the winners.
Fine Arts Showcase
Kenston Schools will host the third annual Fine Arts Showcase on April 28 in the high school auditorium and gymnasium. The showcase will feature the district art show and music performances by bands and choruses from both the middle and high schools.
The art show will feature a variety of student artwork from all grade levels including work inspired by famous artists and other cultures, wood and scrap sculptures, graphic design, mixed media illustrations, portraits and landscapes.
Music performances begin at 1pm and conclude at 8pm in the Robert A. Lee Auditorium. Five featured concerts will include the KHS band concert, KMS seventh- and eighth-grade band concert, KIS fifth-grade chorus concert, KMS seventh- and eighth -grade choral spring concert and KHS chorus concert. Join for the official showcase opening from 1-3 p.m.
AfterProm Preview
The Kenston community is invited to preview AfterProm May 4 from 8-10 p.m. at Kenston High School.
AfterProm is a long-standing tradition at Kenston to provide a supervised party for juniors and seniors after the prom. Community volunteers have worked all year to offer the safe and memorable event for students.
