Harris Skaramagas has been selected Kenston’s Chagrin Valley Rotary Club Student of the Month in February.

Harris Skaramagas has been selected Kenston’s Chagrin Valley Rotary Club Student of the Month in February.

He carries a 4.317, earning High Honor Roll (4.0-5.0) recognition every quarter in high school, which he attributes to the number of Advanced Placement courses he has taken. He will graduate with an honors diploma and summa cum laude.

He earned varsity letters in football and was a member of the 2018 Division III State Championship Football team. He also earned Western Reserve Conference All-Academic honors as a Senior.

Throughout his high school career, Harris has tutored students in algebra, precalculus, statistics, biology and chemistry. He has also volunteered as a camp counselor for the Kenston Football Youth Football Camp.

Outside of school, Harris is a member of the Coutalis Club, a Greek civic club.   

Harris plans to attend The Ohio State University and major in biochemistry with a pre-medicine focus and potentially minor in business.

KHS Literary Magazine named “Excellent”

The Kenston High School literary magazine, Janus, was honored with a rank of “Excellent” in the 2019 National College of Teachers of English Program – REALM Award (Recognize Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines). Over 325 schools entered the 2019 program and Kenston was one of five (5) Ohio schools to receive this honor.  Student Editors of the 20198 edition were Christa Niemann (Lead Editor), Dante Anderson, Isabel Andras, Natalia Barone, Samara Benza, Kayla Eastman, Samantha Kirschman, Nicole Lanese, Annika Markoff, Maddie Ruf-Young, Sarah Soryal and Aubrey Taylor.  Mr. Tony Marchesi was the Faculty Advisor.

KHS Parent Teacher Conferences

Kenston High School will hold Parent Teacher Conferences, Thursday, February 15 from 4-8pm in the high school gymnasium. The parent teacher conference is an opportunity for parents to learn about their child’s progress in school and for teachers to gain insight into their student’s home and community lives.  The high school utilizes an “open” format with teachers at individual tables, set up in the gym where you can stop to see any or all of your child’s teachers. During the school year, utilize Infinite Campus to check your student’s weekly progress.
