A First for Newbury: Robotics
Newbury High School’s Robotics Club participated in its first ever robotics tournament on Dec. 16 in Austintown. The tournament was sponsored by the FIRST Technical Challenge league and included 24 teams that participated for 30 rounds in which the robots had to meet a series of challenges including stacking up 6-inch cubes, balancing on a wobbly platform, displacing specifically colored items and placing irregularly shaped objects in specific locations.
Newbury’s team came away with a list of hardware and software improvements to make before its final qualifying tournament on Jan. 5 at the Tri-C East campus.
