Food Drive a Success
Newbury Elementary Student Council, led by second-grade teacher Bernadette Stefancin, held an annual food drive. Students collected 939 cans of food, which was donated to Bainbridge Area Food for Friends organization.
As an incentive, Principal Cyndi Tomassetti agreed to let the class that collected the most cans shoot Silly String all over her in front of the elementary school. Mrs. Gabriel’s third-grade class was the winner, collecting 160 cans of food.
The food bank was very grateful for the generosity of the Newbury School community.
