Newbury High School seniors participated in the None 4 Under 21 event held at Hiram College on April 19. The event is coordinated by Portage County Safe Communities.
None 4 Under 21 empowers young people to make appropriate choices by graphically demonstrating the consequences of poor decision-making. Approximately 2,000 Northeast Ohio high school seniors learned about choices and consequences through mock crash scenes, speakers and the Walk of Remembrance, with 11 area families honoring their loved ones killed in a traffic crash. The program included testimonials from speakers whose lives have been forever changed by drunk and distracted driving.
Band and Choir Spring Concert
The Newbury Elementary School fourth- and fifth-grade band and choir spring concert will be held May 10 at 7 p.m. in Newbury auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
