The Newbury Academic Team has had many accomplishments this school year.
In the Portage County League, the team earned fourth place overall and first place small school competition. Individual accomplishments include: Mak Sanders – first team All-League and third highest scorer; Sarah Stefancin – third team All-League and 14th highest scorer; and Annie Kinkopf – junior varsity All-Star and ninth highest scorer JV. The awards were great accomplishments since there were over 200 league participants.
The varsity team received a bid to the 2017 NAQT Small School National Championship in Chicago and a bid for the 2017 High School National Championship in Atlanta. This is the fourth year in a row they have received a bid to the small school tournament.
Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration and screening will take place on March 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call the elementary office at 440-564-2282 to set up an appointment time.
Children are eligible for kindergarten for the 2017-18 school year if they are 5 years old on or before Aug. 1.
