Academic Decathlon Regionals
NDCL’s Academic Decathlon team hauled in 21 individual medals and finished in second place in regional competition on Jan. 21.
The Lions won six gold medals, 10 silver medals, four bronze medals and an individual overall medal. The team swept the medal standings in the math and essay competitions.

Lions Witness to Life
From Munson Township to Washington, D.C., the NDCL community witnessed to the value of life in prayer and action on Jan. 27.
A busload of NDCL student pilgrims traveled to the nation’s capital to join hundreds of thousands of people from across the country in the annual March for Life. Campus minister Sarah Reed and theology teacher Stacey Brandt accompanied the group, which also included members of the Saint Mary Church youth ministry. In addition to participating in the march, the students celebrated a Mass for Life in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. On campus, students and staff gathered for its own Mass for Life.

Robert Collins, of the Ohio Knights of Columbus, visited NDCL’s campus to present $500 scholarships to sophomores Josh and Madeline Karban. Josh and Madeline were two of only 10 students throughout the eight-county Diocese of Cleveland to win Knights of Columbus high school tuition scholarships this year.
