Lions join Cribbs at City Club

Nine NDCL students were guests of the City Club of Cleveland on Jan. 21 for “When the Lights Go Out: A Conversation about Concussions and Youth Sports.”

The luncheon program at the club’s downtown office featured former Cleveland Browns star return specialist Josh Cribbs and his wife, Maria Cribbs. Dr. Mayur M. Pandya, sports psychiatrist, also participated in the hour-long panel discussion.

Our students surprised Cribbs by sporting his No. 16 Browns jersey to the luncheon. The affable former Brown loved it.

Campus minister Chris Stoffl and physical education teacher Marco DiFranco accompanied the group to the City Club. The complete program may be viewed online.

Blessing of Every Life

The NDCL community celebrated our Catholic Church’s Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children with its annual Mass for Life on Jan. 22.

After communion, senior Emily Slak shares the story of her brother Greg, who was born with cerebral palsy.

“I am grateful to my parents, who chose life and let the life of Gregory bless us all,” Emily said in her heartfelt testimony to love, life, family and faith.
