Prep Volleyball Honors
NDCL senior Erica Kostelac was named a PrepVolleyball.com Academic All-American. Only 150 players from 40 states earned this impressive national recognition. Erica will play for University of Cincinnati in the fall 2016.
Senior Ambre Pierce earned a high honorable mention in the ratings. Ambre will be a member of the Cleveland State University team next fall.
Science Olympiad Team Competes
NDCL’s Science Olympiad team fared well in the intensely competitive Solon Invitational on Jan. 30. Out of 48 teams from five states, the Lions finished in 19th place. Science teachers Pauline Cheeseman and Rebecca Weinfurtner coach the team with assistance from academic tutor Tammy Eicher.
The following team members achieved honors in specific events out of 48 teams:
Anatomy: junior Brendan Hyslop and sophomore Greg Owendoff, fifth place; Air Trajectory: senior Patrick Galaska and sophomore Nathan Lewandowski, seventh place; Cell Biology: juniors Billy Martin and Brendan Hyslop; Geologic Mapping: seniors Patrick Galaska and Justin Schlereth, ninth place; and Write It, Do It: juniors Billy Martin and Brendan Hyslop, 10th place.
