Stranger Danger Lesson
On April 28, students in grades K-3 participated in the Officer Phil program. Magic Bob and his sidekick Turbo the Turtle taught the students about stranger danger. They used four basic colors to reinforce actions that could save a child’s life.
In-School Retreat
During the last two weeks of April, sixth- and seventh-grade students participated in an in-school retreat presented by Bob Kloos, artistic director and performer for Beacon Street. Beacon Street, a non-profit ministry whose mission is to proclaim the Gospel, uses the performing arts to engage students in learning about the Good News of the Scripture.
Effective Ways to Say “No”
It’s there really a simple solution to peer pressure? On April 20, PSI concluded its final segment of the Bullies to Buddies program at Notre Dame Elementary School to students in grades K-5.
The program focuses on specific techniques that can be used to respond to bullying. The last segment targeted peer pressure and ways to effectively say no.
Jesus Day Celebration
In preparation for their first communion, second-graders celebrated Jesus Day. The retreat day consisted of multiple craft stations to help them prepare for their first communion.
At one of the craft stations, students created and designed pillowcases that will be delivered to a local children’s hospital.
