Science Center Field Trip

NDES second-graders visited the Great Lakes Science Center last week where they had so much fun exploring the hands on exhibits. They learned so much about outer space, wildlife animals and forces in motion.

NDCL Scholarship Recipients

A reception was held a couple of weeks ago for all Distinguished Scholarship recipients and finalists for the Leadership Impact Award. This past fall, NDCL held a placement test for all prospective students entering NDCL. Only a small percentage of students were selected.

NDES eighth-graders honored include: Elizabeth Walsh, Bayley Stefanek, Danny Zucker, Antonia Mysyk, Olivia DeJohn, Daniel Bosworth, Eddie Zucker, Alex Echanove, Lauren Kuhar, Aubrey Zahuranec, Hailey Oppenlander and Elizabeth Frissell.

Art Projects to be Auctioned

Notre Dame Elementary School will hold its annual auction March 15 at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens to support the students at NDES. One of the highlights of the auction is the traditional grade level art projects.

Art teacher Mary Hastings designed and worked with the students for this year’s auction art projects.

The fifth-grade project was created by having each student place smaller pieces of colored glass onto a white glass base. The pieces were fired in the kiln and fused together to make a smooth glass piece that is in the shape of a cross. Each child’s name is etched onto the back.

Community Appreciation

As a part of Catholic Schools Week, students created thank you cards and raised money for the staff at Notre Dame Educational Center that helps maintain Notre Dame Elementary School’s day-to-day operations. Many renovations occurred over the summer at Notre Dame Elementary School and they were a big part of making it all happen.

Notre Dame Elementary Preschool is accepting registration for the 2014-15 school year.
