Annual Christmas Boutique
The Notre Dame Parent’s Association hosted the annual Christmas Boutique on Dec. 9. The time honored tradition at NDES offers a unique shopping experience for the children. Because of the outstanding efforts of parent volunteers, the children are able to shop for reasonably priced items for their family and friends and visit with Santa. The Notre Dame Parent Association plans and shops all year and offers a huge selection of gifts. The Sisters of Notre Dame even have a table, where all the proceeds of their sales benefit the missions.
On Our Way to Bethlehem
On Dec. 15, NDES students in first through fourth grades performed On Our Way to Bethlehem, a musical depiction of the journey to the manger. Highlighted during the afternoon were performances by the kindergarten and the NDES choir. Under the direction of Mary Tomsick, students portrayed Biblical characters to music and shared the magic of Christmas with everyone.
Giving to Others
NDES students in grades preschool through eighth have spent the last 25 days reaching out to different organizations in need. Through a collaborative effort with Jennifer Creech, the Notre Dame Parent Association and the staff at NDES, a calendar of different charities in need was assembled. Children made cards for the Veterans of Armed Forces, collected books for Metro Catholic, made placemats for Meals on Wheels and collected items such as blankets, towels and sheets for Geauga Rescue Village. Each day a charity’s specific need has been fulfilled by NDES as we become Christ for one another.
