Fall is in the Air

The second-graders are getting in the fall spirit with clay pumpkins. They created their own pumpkin template and learned how to work with clay by rolling out slabs, transferring their template and trimming out the pumpkin shape. The pumpkins will soon be fired and glazed just in time to enjoy for the season.

Energy and Forces in Motion

Fourth-graders are exploring energy and forces in motion with phases of a roller coaster build. The first phase involves using plumbing foam, a marble and some masking tape to determine if the height of the first hill in a roller coaster has to be higher than the second hill.

In the second phase, the students will explore centrifugal force by using the same materials to form a loop.
