Reading for a Cause
The students in Mr. Gardner’s English/language arts classes in grades three through six read for a cause. They read books and gathered sponsors to donate money based on the number of pages they read (i.e., 1 cent per page).
The purpose of this activity was to encourage students to read while raising funds for a cause. The total amount of money raised was $3,400. The donation was made to the Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy Relief.
Congratulations to all of the students for the motivation, charity and reading and to all the sponsors for their generous donations to encourage the students to read and to their donations to the Red Cross.
