Flat Stanley’s Adventures
Miss Riechard’s third-grade class read the book “Flat Stanley” about a little boy who is flattened by a bulletin board. Since plane tickets are so expensive, Stanley’s parents decide to put him in an envelope and mail him to visit his friend in California.
After reading the story, the third-graders colored their own “Flat Stanleys” and mailed them to people they know who live in other states. The hosts will show Stanley around town and take pictures with him to send back to the class. They will also write a letter describing their visit with Stanley to teach the students about where they live. The students will be charting Stanley’s travels on a large map of the United States.
