Hour Of Coding
Kindergartners through eighth-graders participated in an Hour of Code last week. The Hour of Code is a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week (csedweek.org) and CODE (code.org) to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming.
The children used drag-drop blocks and JavaScript. They also used codes with Star Wars, Frozen and Minecraft and wrote their own codes.
Kindergarten Field Trip
Mrs. Mary Wollenberg’s kindergarten class enjoyed a field trip to North Corner Farm owned by John and Mary Lou Wolfram. John and Mary have owned the family farm located on the corner of Butternut and Clairdon-Troy roads since 1970.
During their field trip, students participated in many activities including a tractor ride through the Christmas tree farm. They learned how to make Christmas wreaths, visited the chickens and ended their busy day with some cookies and delicious hot cocoa.
