Lent

Students and staff at St. Helen School “buried” the Alleluia in Church on Feb. 16, the day before Ash Wednesday. To mark the beginning of the season of Lent, students will attend Mass and receive ashes, participate in reflection and mission work to prepare for Easter.

Lifeworks Ohio

St. Helen Catholic School participates in the “Choose Life!” program, which is a six-week course offered to students in grades 6-8 where students learn empowering lessons that support a consistent Ethic of Life based on Catholic teaching, scientific facts and sociological studies.

LifeWorks Ohio is a registered non-profit, non-partisan organization devoted entirely to education, which affirms the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death.

Helping Hands

Throughout Lent, St. Helen students will be collecting toiletries that will be distributed to the homeless in Cleveland through the outreach program, St. Paschal Baylon Helping Hands.

Each class is being asked to bring in a specific item. The items will then be assembled and given to the organization to distribute throughout the city.

This outreach project engages students in a corporal work of mercy in this Jubilee Year of Mercy.
