Pi Day Celebration
St. Helen fourth-graders had a great time celebrating Pi Day on March 14. They learned about the area of a circle and watched examples to help them understand how it works. Students also enjoyed fun Pi vs. Pie worksheets and participated in a friendly contest to see who could memorize the most digits of pi. They ended the day on a sweet note with a personal pie treat, making the celebration both educational and delicious.
One School, One Book
St. Helen School is taking part in One School, One Book, featuring the reading of “James and the Giant Peach,” a story that includes several insect characters. Families are encouraged to read the assigned chapters each evening while students engage in various activities at school to connect with their reading. Parents and teachers have collaborated to create an unforgettable learning experience.
The school has been transformed into a giant peach, complete with life-sized insects and other significant elements from the book. Exciting activities have been organized, including daily trivia, insect investigations, peach taste testing, and a glow stick dance party. The grand finale will be the junior high presentation of the play, “James and the Giant Peach.”
