Straight ‘A’ All-Star
The Cleveland Cavaliers and Westfield are proud to reward students for high scholastic achievement through the Straight “A” All-Stars program. The program is open to all students in grades K-8 in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit counties.
All students who earn straight A’s during the first or second grading periods will receive a personalized Straight “A” All-Stars certificate and special prize. In addition, 300 students will be randomly selected each grading period to receive two tickets to a pre-selected Cavaliers home game and an official Straight “A” All-Stars T-shirt. St. Mary’s eighth grader Zoe Virant won the tickets this grading period.
Future CEO Winners
St. Mary eighth-graders Evan Filson and Ethan O’Keefe won the Future CEO Competition and will move on to St. Ignatius for the next level of competition. Their “company” made piBox, which is a cost effective way to access video games. They 3D printed a housing and used a raspberry pi board to build a device that comes with a controller and an HDMI cord for $75. All one needs is a monitor to be set for gaming.
