Visit From Jimmy Malone
Morning talk show host Jimmy Malone from WMJI 105.7 visited Berkshire Jr.-Sr. High School on April 11 to talk with seniors about college. Mr. Malone was engaging and offered excellent advice for the students.
The presentation covered technology, financial issues and even where to purchase textbooks. The visit was sponsored by Lake/Geauga Educational Assistance Foundation (L.E.A.F.).
A.L.I.C.E. Training
Geauga County Sheriff deputies and the Burton police led 10 teachers and administrators through the A.L.I.C.E. training on April 12. A.L.I.C.E. stands for “Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate.”
These staff members, with the assistance of the police, will train the staff in the district buildings. Each building will adapt the A.L.I.C.E. recommendations to suit its needs.
The school district is grateful to the Burton Police Department and the Geauga County Sheriff’s Department for their time and expertise.
