Dr. William W. Beers was appointed to the West Geauga Local School District Board of Education by a unanimous vote of its members at the board’s regular meeting on Sept. 25.
Dr. Beers will serve the unexpired term of Mr. Tom Allen who resigned from the board on Aug. 30, 2017, due to increasing business obligations.
Dr. Beers’ formal education, culminating in a doctorate in inorganic chemistry, along with his career as a system engineer and his experience as a member of the West Geauga Board of Education from 2002-13 qualify him as one who understands the opportunities and challenges inherent in formal education.
The board selected Dr. Beers from a pool of five qualified applicants. The board thanks each candidate for his/her willingness to volunteer time and energy in the education of the community’s youth.
