Students Help Hurricane Victims

Lindsey Elementary School staff and students participated in Hats for Hurricane Help last week. Students were able to pay a dollar a day to wear a hat to school and raise money for victims of the recent hurricanes.

The school is proud to announce that the staff and students raised a total of $520.40. The students were so happy to be able to help out people in need.

All the money raised is being donated on behalf of the school to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief effort. Great job, Lindsey Elementary School staff and students.

WGHS Powder Puff Game

The West Geauga football field was lit up for more than Friday Night Lights last week, as Wednesday, Oct. 4 was the annual Powder Puff game, pitting the junior girls versus the seniors. This year, the juniors won 8-6 after a tough battle, scoring on the last play of the game and snagging the extra point with no time on the clock.

Senior Sydney Palivec said, “It was a fun game, but very disappointing to lose.”

Bonding, athleticism and sportsmanship are key components of this entertaining event during Homecoming’s weeklong celebration. Thank you to all participants.
