Chester PD Officer Takes on SRO Role
Mark Rich, a 15-year veteran, now with the Chester Township Police Department, is taking on a new role this year. He is now the school resource officer (SRO) for the West Geauga Schools.
Rich has just completed a week-long training developed by the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) to prepare him for the challenges seen in today’s schools.
He said, “I’ve always had in interest in becoming an SRO. I want the students to feel safe and get the best education possible.”
Rich’s role will be to have a positive influence on the students, work with the staff and help to ensure the students can focus on their education.
