New Gate to Football Field

Visitors who attend West Geauga High School football games will soon be entering through a new gate. Curtis Gate will join Kilroy Gate as anchor points of the perimeter fencing around the school’s artificial turf field.

The gate is a gift from the Curtis family, of Newbury, whose children attend West Geauga Schools.

West G Superintendent Rich Markwardt said of the donation, “this is a very generous gesture of support by the Curtis family for West Geauga Schools that yields both safety and aesthetic benefits to our athletic facilities.”

The community is welcome to join for a special ribbon cutting of the new Curtis Gate at 6 p.m. Aug. 28.

WG Remodels Cafeteria

Returning high school students found a freshly remodeled cafeteria. The new look incorporates a new ceiling with improved lighting, more efficient serving line/station configuration, new doors, new cabinetry, new drywall and fresh paint.

According to Principal Jay Bishop, “The work inside the cafeteria looks fantastic. Students were excited to see the area brightened and updated by the remodeling.”
