Science Teacher Honored
Stephanie Rischar Meyer, a science teacher at West Geauga High School, is among those being honored by State Superintendent Paolo DeMaria at The Ohio Statehouse in Columbus. Mrs. Meyer recently scored among the top 100 teachers in Ohio on the Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA). Ohio’s teachers begin their careers with a four-year resident educator license. During that time period, they must meet several objectives and pass the RESA to qualify for a five-year professional license.
Big Win Kicks Off Homecoming
West G celebrated homecoming the weekend of Sept. 23 and 24. Homecoming is always a special event for West Geauga students and community members.
West Geauga celebrated a 42 to 0 win over Harvey and the crowning of this year’s homecoming queen, Gabriella Engoglia.
This year’s theme was “A Whole New World,” a great way to start off the year for a senior class looking toward the future.
Events on this scale only come together with the many volunteers who worked on the parade, dance and other festivities. West Geauga Local Schools would like to thank the staff, parents, student council, various parent and community support organizations that made it such a successful weekend.
