A two-vehicle accident at around 9:47 p.m. Aug. 13 in Bainbridge Township killed a woman and seriously injured a man, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Susan Hinkle, 68, of Auburn Township, was traveling northbound on state Route 306 in a 2019 Audi A3 sedan and Timothy Varga, 43, of Chagrin Falls, was going south on Route 306 in a 2015 Dodge Ram truck, officials said.
Hinkle went left of center and struck Varga head-on. Hinkle suffered fatal injuries from the crash, said staff Lt. Jeff Greene in a statement, adding Varga suffered serious injuries and was transported to Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights.
Bainbridge Township fire and police departments, as well as the state highway patrol responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation. Alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash, Greene said.
