Introduction to NAMI

Aug. 9, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Aug.19, 11 a.m. to noon

Learn more about National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Geauga County, which serves families across the county and Northeast Ohio with free mental health support, online groups, resources and education.

Sculpting Class for Kids

Aug. 16 and 23, 3-4 p.m.

Make permanent sculptures of animals, people and whatever one wants. Learn about the construction with salt dough pro Karen Leonord, the artist behind many of the paintings in the children’s room. Registration is required for both dates.

Yoga

Aug. 16, 23 and 30, 6:30-7:45 p.m.

Join an instructor as she walks through different yoga poses. Instructor fee is $5.

Inside Circle

Aug. 21, 6-7 p.m.

Develop music skills with RockAbility members. The group will use music therapy techniques to develop rhythm and melody skills. Adults with developmental disabilities and their caregivers are welcome. Bring an instrument or use one of the library’s.

Kids Abstract Art Lesson

Aug. 22, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Prepare for the Kid’s Art Show with an art lesson with renowned artist Mary Ann Sedivy. Perfect for kids interested in crafting, getting messy and having fun – all while learning something new about creating art. Registration is required.

Kid’s Art Show Drop Off 

Aug. 28 to Sept. 8. 

Youth ages 3-15 may submit their artwork to be displayed in the children’s area of the library. Prizes will be awarded based on category and age. Bring the piece of art to the library and fill out the entry form to be considered for the competition.
