NEOCAG Meeting
Aug. 12, 9:15 a.m.
The NorthEast Ohio Computer-Aided Genealogy Society, Inc. (NEOCAG) monthly meeting will be held online via Zoom.
Genealogist Kate Townsend will present “Stop the Presses! Incorporating Newspaper Records into Your Research.” The presentation begins at 9:45 a.m.

Chardon BrewFest
Aug. 12, 12-5 p.m.
BrewFest returns to Chardon Square, where more than 25 local brewers will provide samples of over 50 beers and ales. The event also features live music all day and local food vendors.
Chardon Rotary will hold a 50/50 raffle with all proceeds going to Geauga Hunger Task Force.
General admission is $45 and includes 15 pours and a tasting mug. The $15 designated driver ticket includes tasting mug and soft drinks.

Troy Homecoming Days

Troy Homecoming Community Days will be held at Troy Community House and Grounds, 13950 Main Market Road in Burton. Flea Market on the Greens

Chesterland Historical Village will host its annual Flea Market On The Village Green featuring treasures galore, flowers, music and food booths. Join in a great time of treasure hunting.Admission is $3 for adults and free for children.
The village is located on the corner of Caves and Mayfield roads in Chester Township.
Chicken Dinner and Car Show

Edward and Lucy Parish will host its 14th annual Chicken Dinner and Car Show, rain or shine, at St. Edward Church, 16150 Center St. in Parkman. Event features classic cars and trucks, Chinese auction, raffles, bingo, DJ Cory and kids games. There will be live music from 1-4 p.m.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children 10 and under.
Early bird ticket sales for the Chinese auction and raffle are available Aug. 19 from 2-6:30 p.m. Drawing will be after 6 p.m. Aug. 20; winner need not be present.

Rockin’ with Resources

The Geauga County Court of Common Pleas New Leaf Program and OhioMeansJobs Geauga County will host the community connection event at Chardon Square. Rockin’ with Resources will feature music, food, giveaways and kids activities. Over 30 local community organizations will participate.

Accessible Legion Fund
The Atwood-Mauck American Legion Post 459 in Burton is raising funds to make the upper hall of the post handicapped accessible and hopes to reach its goal of $100,000 by the end of the year. An anonymous donor has come forward who will match any donations made now through the end of September, up to $10,000.
