Sew Sew Sweet

The Sew Sew Sweet 4-H sewing club recently got together with Mary Brazofsky to help make stockings for newborns. The sewing 4-H club has been helping Mrs. Brazofsky yearly with the stocking project since 2017.

This year, the members of the club spent an afternoon in September tracing, cutting, pinning and sewing the stockings. Mrs. Brazofsky then takes the stockings to her home for the finishing touches.

Mrs. Brazofsky stated, “The girls are amazing to help do this for us.”

Mrs. Brazofsky is a member of the UH Geauga Medical Center Auxiliary. She has been making and donating stockings through this organization for 40 years.

During our interview when I asked why she became a part of the project, she said she finds joy in giving the new babies born at Geauga Hospital a new stocking to take home. Any baby born at Geauga Hospital from Dec. 1 through Christmas will receive one of these stockings that were handmade with lots of love. (Submitted by Gabrielle Armstrong, news reporter)
